The Tour de France starts here in Barcelona next week, enough to even get gravel riders excited. And we have a few juicy updates of our own.
Guava and Gritline, a new chapter begins
We are teaming up with Guava. They build Freedom Machines, one at a time, with the same care that we take in building Gritline. Both from Barcelona, both addicted to gravel. New route: The Pedraforca Loop
El Parc Natural del Cadí-Moixeró had been on our bucket list and we finally got to ride gravel through it. The Pedraforca Loop is certainly worth a day off, uphill along the northern face, then a sporty descent all the way to Gósol. A trace of Pablo Picasso, fresh water and the kind of village that makes you want to stay a while. From Gósol, you swing along the southern face: dry rocky trails giving way to forest tracks. This route scores pretty highly on technicality and views, so stay focused and enjoy the ride. Route details here →
Gritliner Spotlight: Théo
Road cyclist for a decade, some mountain biking along the way and now hooked on gravel. “Even a ninety-minute ride can feel like an expedition if the surface is right”. Most of his favourite tracks have no phone signal, which is the point. Read Théo’s story →
Event routes
We love maps, routes and gravel events. So we’ve expanded the Gritline map to include publicly available event routes: nearly 40 of them, from The Traka to M&M Gravel Grinder and the Pyrenean Rally, all on one screen. We’ve labelled them clearly so you can always tell which routes are Gritline originals, and full credits go to the organisers. Explore the map →
