Hi {{first_name | rider}},
It’s been two weeks since the last newsletter so here we are. First, the important stuff: routes and events.
New route: The Serralada Loop
We published a new route, The Serralada Loop. You start rolling gently along Riu Besòs and Riu Mogent, then cut south through the Serralada itself. Sea views on top of the ridge, fun descent back into Barcelona. 65 km, 920 m. Route details here →
May events, done and dusted
May was full of gravel action with five events on the calendar, taking riders from the Mediterranean coast to the Pyrenees. You can see our May event recap here →
We have added one event to the June calendar. VA de BICI, organised by the Barcelona workshop of the same name. It starts in Els Omells de na Gaia and rolls through the Vall del Corb, in Lleida, proper interior Catalonia. Full details →
What’s next
We have been having some initial partnership conversations. Nothing to announce yet, but the goal is simple: fund deeper coverage of Catalonia so we can ride more routes, write more pieces and get into corners of the region that no one else is writing about. We will share more with you on that soon.
A few small changes on the website worth mentioning:
Comments and tagging on routes. Spotted a route you want to ride with someone? Comment and tag them on the route page. We read them all.
Activity feed. See which Gritliners are signed up to which events. Useful if you’re on the fence about going.
Three event types. Events are now labelled as Day events (non-competitive), Races (competitive, timed) and Ultras (multi-day). The industry uses a range of overlapping labels - cyclosportives, gran fondos, bikepacking, ultras, non-competitive - so we’ve reduced it to three buckets.
Back in two weeks. Until then, if you ride one of the routes, send us a photo.
Robin
